Despite being a golden retriever in human form, his cousins have very little respect for him, which, surprisingly, has less to do with the fact he runs around the ren faire shirtless in a kilt and more because he's committed the unforgivable sin of becoming a.gym teacher. So, April and Mitch! They're a fun little spin on the fake dating trope, with single and 40-something mom April agreeing to be the Willow Creek heartthrob's faux-girlfriend for a family reunion. Did it finally convince me to consider attending a renaissance fair? Also no! However, I liked it quite a bit better than the shaky relationship at the heart of the second installment, Well Played, and there was definite chemistry going on (*cue suggestive eyebrow raise*). Like all of the Jen DeLuca books in this series, Well Matched is pretty dang cute. ![]()
